Volcanic Ash Cloud Disruption

As a result of a volcanic ash cloud that has penetrated Northern European airspace the UK’s National Air Traffic Services (NATS) have advised us that UK airspace will be closed until at least 7 a.m. local time on Friday, April 16. As a result, American Airlines regrets to advise that all flights into and out of the UK are cancelled until that time and that later flights could also be subject to delay or cancellation.

Passengers scheduled to travel on flights over the next 24 hours are advised to contact the American Airlines Reservations at 0844 499 7300 (UK), 800-433-7300 (US) or visit www.aa.com for the latest information.

All affected passengers will be re-accommodated on alternative flights and a schedule irregularity policy allowing passengers to change their travel plans is now in place:

·         Customers booked to travel on a cancelled flight can claim a full refund or choose one of the options set out immediately below.

·         If you wish to travel to your original destination, you may re-book on another American Airlines flight at your convenience, subject to availability.
Conditions:

o     Travel must be completed within ticket validity and tickets must be re-issued in the same cabin as the original.

o    The return flight, if applicable, can be re-booked at the same time, maintaining the original length of stay. No extra fare is payable.

o    If the above option is not acceptable to you, you may claim a refund of the original American Airlines flight, plus any parts of the journey not made which are on the same ticket as the original flight.

Conditions:

o    The refund will be credited to the original form of payment.
