United Increasing Change/Cancel Fee
April 21, 2008
In an environment where fuel prices are averaging $100 a barrel, United is facing a cost increase of more than $2 billion this year. As a result of this tough economic environment, we are continuing to adapt to today’s market realities and finding new ways to generate revenue.
This weekend, United increased its itinerary change/cancel fees for US and Canadian point-of-sale tickets. The new fare filings were effective the evening of 4/18:
- The new US and Canada POS domestic itinerary change/cancel fee increased from $100 USD to $150 USD.
- The new US and Canada POS international itinerary change/cancel fees vary – check fare rules for the appropriate fee.
- Tickets issued prior to this policy change may not be affected by the increase and are subject to the change/cancel fees stated in the fare rules.
