CARE – Defending Dignity, Fighting Poverty

CARE is a humanitarian organization fighting global poverty. Women are at the heart of CARE’s community-based efforts to improve basic education, prevent the spread of HIV, increase access to clean water and sanitation, expand economic opportunity and protect natural resources. Experience shows that, equipped with the proper resources, women have the power to help whole families and entire communities escape poverty. CARE serves individuals and families in the poorest communities in the world, improving their lives and achieving lasting victories over poverty. ADTRAV proudly sponsors CARE at the corporate and individual level, “giving back” to help change lives for the better.
American Heart Association - Learn and Live

ADTRAV supports the American Heart Association through their premier fund-raising event, Heart Walk. Designed to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living in a fun, family environment, Heart Walk is more than fund-raising, it helps us all live happier, healthier, longer lives. Each year ADTRAV associates join the more than 1 million walkers promoting wellness and raising funds to save lives from the No. 1 and No. 3 killers in the United States – heart disease and stroke.
Local Support
ADTRAV supports the SAPP Shelter for women and children in Huntsville, AL. The shelter provides food, clothing, shelter and education to women and children in need of both long and short-term care. Support for the SAPP Shelter also helps place families in permanent homes and works toward the goal of breaking the cycle of homelessness.
During the holiday season, ADTRAV partners with the Department of Human Services of Shelby County, Alabama, to provide gifts to local foster children and teens. Working from wish lists, our associates not only raise funds but shop for the children and gift wrap each purchase before delivering to the local DHS office.
ADTRAV’s Adventures in Education was founded in 2008 to support local schools. In addition to monetary donations, a company-wide school supply drive was held during the months of March and April to benefit nearly 1700 students. ADTRAV associates also volunteer at local schools, participate in school festivals, and provide support and speakers for career day/job fair events.
SOS – In the fall, the ADTRAV in Action team rallies its employees in support of Save Our Strays a non-profit, no-kill animal organization that currently cares for over 350 cats every day. The SOS campaign provides volunteer and donation opportunities that helps feed, find homes and care for these abandoned animals.
ADTRAV’s Unsung Heroes
Most of our associates’ volunteer activities and donations are invisible to all but those they benefit. We are proud of each and every associate and applaud the “service nonstop” attitude that makes ADTRAV what it is today. While we don’t have room to list every endeavor, we do select an associate to feature as our unsung hero.
This quarter ADTRAV salutes a mother daughter team from our Tempe, AZ office who for the past three years, has volunteered two nights a month with StandUp For Kids. Going out on the streets of Phoenix, they provide a personal care package for homeless and at-risk youth. The packages contain basic hygiene products, information on where to receive help and a phone card.
